The Creation Station CGLC is a Detroit based digital media training and career exposure program that exposes youth and adults to the world of CGI (Computer Generated Images) and Desktop Publishing by showing them how to create digital media, web pages, graphic design, 3D modeling & animation.


The Creation Station’s classes nurture creativity and teach practical skills that are designed to spark an interest in continued learning in the area of digital media arts and provides awareness of entrepreneurial opportunities that exist in the field of Desktop Publishing.

Creativity Unleashed

The goal of the Creation Station CGLC is to teach our students to be more than mere consumers of media and art, purchasing popular video games and spending countless hours playing them, watching TV and reading other people’s comic books. The goal is to get students to realize that they can and should be the creators of their own media that so entertains and enthralls the masses, as a means of creative self-expression, and as a path to earning a living.

Our Methods

All of our computer courses are “hands on”, which means our students learn by doing. During the course of the program, students will complete various media projects that are designed to build competency with various software hardware and design conventions.
 
Career & Opportunity Exposure
Opportunities A large portion of the Creation Station program is dedicated to exposing students to the myriad of career opportunities available in the creative media arts industry.

Graphic Design

During this portion of the program, students are exposed to various career opportunities in the Graphic Design Industry. Students are shown the projects that various designers produce and they learn how designers use creative software, (Adobe Creative Suite), to design and execute their designs.

Web Design

The Web Design Industry is full of opportunities for creative designers and programers! We introduce our students to various career opportunities within the ever expansive and lucrative web design industry.
We demonstate how the web works, how various web technologies and languages work together, and how image, music, videos and games are incorporated.
Students will also learn about E-commerce and how people make money on the web every day.

3D Modeling & Animation

Our students get a chance to step into the third dimension while learning about the exciting career opportunities available to those in the 3D Modeling and Animation Industry. Students will learn the basics behind 3D Modeling and will learn about various programs used to create the dazzling effects and animations used in the movie and games industry on through the automotive and architectural opportunities that exist.

Desktop Publishing

This class is for up and coming desktop publishers that want to learn how to produce professional grade graphic design and print services for others. Desktop Publishing is a lucrative field that opens up new worlds of entrepreneurial opportunity and career options for people that have the skills.
